Bioshock is quite honestly the best game I've played on the 360 to date. Certainly the game is fun play and the setting is fantastic place to explore, but the real star of the show is the story. Lending heavily on Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged novel, a topic quite heady compared to your typical shooter game fare, Bioshock gives players a vision of the market gone wrong. Some might say that the game shows the evils inherent in capitalism and the flaws in free market society, but, in actuality, Bioshocks gives a vision of the opposite. It shows people what happens when the free market breaks down and a centralized authority dictates the lives of all people within a closed society. The concept is even carried into the presentation of the game when the player realizes that they, in fact, have not had control of their character and have been manipulated from the start of the game.
Regardless of individual interpretations, any game that can create that level of discussion is a winner to me.
