Best action game I've played since DMC3. It's amazing, and one of the great Japanese made games this gen that do more than upgrade the graphics on an essentially PS2-era game. I laughed, I cried, I raged, I smiled with satisfaction. I still think it's a try before you buy, but if you love it, you will LOVE it.
FFXIII is not a terrible game, but it's definitely not great and it's not for everyone. I came into it with high hopes and I was disappointed by the story and structure and pleasantly surprised by combat, art, sound and graphics. I also do like the characters, at their best.
