Red Faction: Guerrilla is a clear example that a game can be fun when you're destroying anything that gets in your way and having a good story doesn't hurt. Plan and simple the first thing about RFG is the destruction you can cause from just not feeling like walking to the front door, knocking down a wall instead to destroying the steps, ladder, bridge to delay an enemies attack or going nuts setting up some mines, charges, then hitting the building with a Thermoberic Rocket. The story is about the Guerrilla i vs the Earth Defense Force (EDF) on mar and your quest for liberation of Mars. Mission have verity: destroy a targeted EDF base or bridge, rescue some prisoners, bring a car back to a base (time limit), steal a convoy car, help jenkins destroy some EDF stuff, defend/invade from an EDF attack, destroy something within a limited time. The only problems is: smashing a building having just a little piece hanging off doesn't count as destroyed can be annoying, obviously the timed missions, no control over other fighters other than that it's a great game.
