Best of 2023

I played 86 games in 2023, but once again only a handful were released in 2023 -- 14 to be exact. Too much grinding through my backlog all year (loving it though).

Regrets and Honorable Mentions:

Regrettably Not Played:

  1. Lies of P: I played the demo on SteamDeck but never found the time to buy and play the full game. Certainly would have enjoyed it.
  2. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty: Lots of hype leading up to this, but I never pulled the trigger on it. Too much backlog to get through.
  3. Dead Space (Remake): I absolutely loved Dead Space and probably should have played this, but I mean.. I could've just replayed the original for free. Remakes don't usually deserve space on a top 10 list.

Honorable Mention:

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is the only game worth mentioning here. It was a good follow up, but quite long.

Street Fighter 6

1. Street Fighter 6

Phenomenal. Felt so good to play. Mained Juri the whole time even though she played so differently from what I was used to in Street Fighter IV.

Dredge

2. Dredge

Unbelievably good, moody game, with a fun loop and feeling of exploration that wasn't annoying. I S-Ranked this game on Steam even though I don't normally go for all achievements there.
