The Switch 2 Direct is going to stream later this week, so I thought it would be fun to make a list of my 15 favorite Switch games. This list could change dramatically as I continue to play Switch 1 games even after the Switch 2 is released but I was in a nostalgic mood since the next Nintendo console is right around the corner. The titles included on this list are games I really enjoyed and/or titles that kind of represent my experience with the Switch.
Also, the games are listed in chronological order and I tried to only include one title from each franchise.

Breath of the Wild was a magical experience not just because of the game’s quality but because of the time I spent playing it with my siblings.
This may sound overly dramatic but I kind of feel like Sonic Mania helped remind me why I love video games in the first place.
Mario Odyssey was not just a great Mario title but it honestly made me weirdly emotional when I completed the final post-game challenge on the moon.
Xenoblade 3 might be the objectively better game but I just had so much fun playing 2. I don’t care how cheesy or cringey it is, I love it.
Celeste was hard as nails but it was still a delight to play. And it was the first of many amazing indie games I experienced on the Switch.
Back when I played Valkyria Chronicles 4, it felt like the franchise was returning after a long absence but it has seemingly become a swan song for the series instead. But it was a heck of a note to end things on… Man, I miss VC.
Three Houses was another title I played alongside my siblings and it is perhaps the most fun I’ve had playing an FE game since experiencing Awakening back in the day.
Just a really special experience. I don’t think I’ll ever play a game quite like Gnosia again.
I grew up playing the GBA Metroid titles and Dread felt like a modern version of those installments. I loved it!.
I had some mixed feelings about the first Somnium Files game but I ended up really digging the Nirvana Initiative. When I saw the final twist, I literally put down my console and said, “You did it again, Uchikoshi”.
