Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

1. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Despite an abrupt ending, a game I couldn't stop playing, advanced the fiction of the universe, improved on already stellar mechanics in almost every way, and added new features like guild management.

Mass Effect 2

2. Mass Effect 2

One of the few games this year I couldn't stop playing until I'd finished it. In fact, the ONLY one that fits that description.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

3. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

If you want punishing "realism" there's another option. If you want a game that's fun, this is the pick. I choose fun.

Heavy Rain

4. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain deserves accolades for both trying something new and succeeding.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

5. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

A game I started in December and probably won't finish until November. Of 2015.

Fallout: New Vegas

6. Fallout: New Vegas

Bugs can (and have) been patched. Interesting characters, a fun storyline, and engaging quests usually don't get added in later. Thankfully they were there at the start.

Costume Quest

7. Costume Quest

Limbo gets all the love for downloadable game of 2010, but this was a fun, bite-sized, adventure game that had me laughing and wishing there was more once it was over.

Disney Epic Mickey

8. Disney Epic Mickey

A fun little platformer that isn't without its faults, but did bring a smile to my face as I played it.

NHL 11

9. NHL 11

Tight controls, a deep franchise mode and the debut of the Ultimate Hockey League all add up to an awesome experience.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

10. Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

I'll never take the inventory of an RPG's item shop for granted again.
