The best cast in any game. RDR streamlined a lot of what was wrong with the GTA series and added a lot of it's own flavor.

Finally Obsidian gets the chance to flex it's muscle. While just as bug-prone as all of their games, FONV manages to create an awesome scenario populated with horrifying and comical situations.
Captured everything I loved about the first one and managed to find a mechanic that was better than photography.
A great sequel to an already awesome game, SMG2 is Nintendo at it's best.
Even though Infinity Ward fell apart CODBLOPS managed to be a better game all-around than MW2 with a better story and less frustrating mulitplayer.
Sheer grappling, skydiving ridiculousness. Just Cause 2 is probably the most pure fun you can have.
While not my favorite game of the year, I'm pretty sure it's the one I spent the most time playing.
