"How's it going dude?" - Frank, the Straightedge In the simplest terms, it's pornographic trash, but it's really much more, no seriously. I fooled around with House Party a bit before it showed up on Game Grumps, then watching Arin and Dan as they played this was some of the most hilarious content I watched this year. While the endgame is getting laid, the journey full of trial and error is an absolutely entertaining head-scratching puzzle. Everyone at this party is crazy out of their fucking minds and you might be too if you play this as much as I did.
While I didn't enjoy this as much as FTL, it was still a solid follow-up to a game I loved so much. I'm a big fan of "tactics" style strategy games, and Into the Breach does something fantastic in stripping out all the randomness, which essentially makes this more of a puzzle game than anything. The puzzle lies in minimizing damage and casualties in an attempt to make it to the end of each map with the best outcome possible. Yes the randomness of each map's spawns can screw you over but where there's a will there's a way, and they give you all the time you can ever need in any given turn to map out the best solution.
BOY! was this game fantastic. It's the "Goofy Movie" of God of War games. Norse mythology is my favorite and including it in the over-arcing God of War universe opened so many doors nobody really thought would be opened in the Greek-centric series. Kratos is a different man now, but that same beast still rests inside him, it's a struggle of his past following him while dealing with the challenges that come with fatherhood in a still unfamiliar land. The combat is slow and methodical compared to the previous games and works better in this new perspective. I'm excited to see what the future holds in the new saga of Kratos and BOY!
This was a beautiful game doing so much justice to my favorite Marvel hero. It's a phenomenal Spider-Man game that checks every box and does every single thing it attempts right. Swings well, combat is fun, music is awesome, and the story is the best in all Spider-Man media outside of the comics. Well done, webhead.
It's more Hitman, and while normally a sequel being a lot more of it's predecessor can be a bad thing, it's not the case with IOI's Hitman reboot where the first game is the best Hitman game ever made. They improved exactly where needed while they left many of the good aspects alone becaue they were already tuned to near perfection. I never thought in my life were I would see the addition of bushes and mirrors in game feel like a complete game changer, but it worked and added another layer of depth not present before.
It was sometime back in 2017 I was at a friend's house before we were about to head down to Chicago, he sat me down and told me to play this when it was in early access. I was immediately hooked. As soon as I got home I bought it and played a while before setting it down patiently waiting for the full release. When the game left early access I would spend numerous evenings after work trying to unlock every weapon in hopes I would get just the right build to beat the game. As many games were released in the fall I took a break to play all those and Dead Cells fell into the back burner. It wasn't until the other night before I went to bed that I played for the first time in months and 44 minutes later on my first "warm up" run I actually beat it. I love how this game makes me feel, nothing about it feels like bullshit. It feels like the best 2D platformer/"metroidvania" I've ever played, it's just plays so well, the controls are tightened to perfection. I love this game and can't wait to see what comes in this game's future.
