Mass Effect 2 was my game of the year last year and one of my favorite games of all time. It looks like they're making it better, somehow.
The first game is the definition of the pony nobody bet on winning the Kentucky Derby. They've got more to work with now, but they don't look like they're losing sight of what made the first one great.
Scale was something I felt was missing from the first two Gears games and it looks like they've got that all manner of covered.
I have yet to hear a dissenting opinion about this game. That's gotta count for something.
I, like so many others, thought Brotherhood was a terrible idea. And I was absolutely mistaken, so I guess they've earned 1 Benefit of the Doubt.
Some website called Uncharted 2 the 2009 Game of the Year, so there's that pedigree. But did you SEE that trailer?? Nothing else really needs to be said.
I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt. The demo was visually stunning, but audio-wise it...well our very own Alex Navarro said it better than I ever could. "Like Al Roker narrating torture porn."
Ya know what? Everything I've seen of this game looks awesome.
I really wanted to dislike this game when I first heard about it, but everything I've heard since points away from a silly cash-grab and toward a super-refined, ridiculously over-the-top experience.
Forget historical accuracy, I wanna kill Hitler!
