When Atari was King

Possibly the greatest era in video games and all the wonderful reason why.  Games on this list made it for s number of different reasons.  They were instant classics or they brought back childhood memories or best of all the had box art that told a story, took you to another world.  The game itself may not have done that or been able to live up to the adventure the outside promised but when you set back and admired the work, you were on another adventure, an adventure of the mind.
