2010 Games I Still Intend to Play

by deusoma

I enjoyed a lot of the games that came out in 2010. Darksiders, Just Cause 2, VVVVVV, and Red Dead Redemption (my personal pick for GOTY), to name a few. But there were still a few titles that I never managed to get my hands on that still intrigue me. Here are a few of the potential nominees for my own personal "2011's 2010 Game of the Year".

1. Alan Wake

I've never been able to play horror games before, but depending on how my upcoming Let's Play with Dead Space goes, maybe I'll give this one the attention it apparently deserves. I'm already interested, being a writer, since my profession isn't exactly popular with game developers.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

2. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Honestly, I forgot about this game until I saw the DLC Quick Look this morning. And while I'm not sure I'd check out said DLC, this game was pretty well-received, and the idea of Journey to the West set after the Robot Apocalypse is novel enough that I'm already a little interested.

Metroid: Other M

3. Metroid: Other M

I've always loved the Metroid series, and while I took to heart Jeff Gerstmann's insistence that there was no real reason to hamper the game by forcing the player to use a sideways Wiimote, I'm still interested in checking out this game, because I hear it's great, controls aside.

The Ball

4. The Ball

Actually, this one's guaranteed, I've already downloaded it from Steam; I just haven't played it yet because I intend to Let's Play it after I finish Darksiders and Dead Space.

God of War III

5. God of War III

This one's kind of a no-brainer. I can't explain why I didn't get it at launch, really, I just wasn't feeling it.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta

6. God of War: Ghost of Sparta

I know exactly why I didn't get this one; because I had just finally picked up Castlevania: Lords of Shadow when it came out. Still, looks damned good.

Singularity

7. Singularity

Not much to say about this one. Looks interesting, but there were *more* interesting games out at the time. Still gonna go back eventually.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift

8. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift

If for no other reason than a very good friend of mine tells me it's The Shit. Not usually into 2D fighters, but I trust his opinion over that of many others, so what the hell, why not?

GoldenEye 007

9. GoldenEye 007

I had an N64, and thus I loved GoldenEye. So I may as well, eh?

Kirby's Epic Yarn

10. Kirby's Epic Yarn

I have a soft spot the size of a barn door for all things adorable. You'd best believe I want to play this game.
