GOTY 2011

SPOILERS ABOUT COMMUNITY GOTY BELOW IN COMMENTS!

These are my favourite games of 2011, not necessarily the best. First, I'd consider myself a somewhat mainstream gamer who will take a great action game over a long RPG any day. Next, I'd like to preface this list with a few games I wish I would have played but didn't:

• Trenched/Iron Brigade (my biggest regret due to my love of Mechassault; I won a copy from X-Play and have never played it)
• The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
• Rayman Origins
• The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
• Assassin's Creed: Revelations (never played any of them)
• Saint's Row: The Third
• Sonic Generations
• Stacking

Notable mentions:

• Jamestown
• Shadows of the Damned (what RE5 should have been closer to)
• Jetpack Joyride

Disappointments:

• Bulletstorm (very middling; meh-worthy)
• Incredibly Twisted Shadow Planet (I love Metroidvania games - I couldn't bring myself to finish this one)
• Deus Ex: Human Revolution (I knew it was an Action RPG hybrid, but it was too much RPG for my liking - I traded it for Driver: SF)
