2014 Game of The Year

by dijag

Would like to play:

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Most Disappointing/Game that convinced me to completely avoid Ubisoft PC ports:

Watch Dogs

Honorable Mentions:

GTA V (Xbone) - originally a 2013 release, would probably be in the top 3 on this list otherwise

Destiny - technically amazing shooter plagued by lack of content at launch, a strange loot system and some obvious missing features

The Talos Principle - serene, yet cerebral 3D puzzler with a mysterious story

Titanfall

1. Titanfall

Don't usually like competitive online shooters. Played 40+ hours of this and had a blast. Automatic GOTY.

Alien: Isolation

2. Alien: Isolation

They made a good Alien game!?!?!

Trials Fusion

3. Trials Fusion

Welcome to the future!

Far Cry 4

4. Far Cry 4

More Far Cry 3 is a pretty great thing.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

5. Wolfenstein: The New Order

A decent story in a Wolfenstein game!?!

Sunset Overdrive

6. Sunset Overdrive

Bouncing, grinding, and zipping around Sunset City was the most pure video game fun of the year.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

7. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

A really good blend of Batman and Assassin's Creed with a unique twist, the Nemesis system.

inFamous: Second Son

8. inFamous: Second Son

Better than 2. Looks real nice.

Super Time Force

9. Super Time Force

Dumb fun game with unique use of time travel.

The Wolf Among Us

10. The Wolf Among Us

This counts as 2014, right? Love the aesthetic.
