Round 6...FIGHT!

Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

1. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Kind of an easy year for the #1 spot. This was the only game that TRULY stood out for me.

Shovel Knight

2. Shovel Knight

Everything I wanted it to be and surprisingly more. Should have come out on more platforms at launch. A real hidden gem of a retro 8-bit.

Broken Age

3. Broken Age

Technically half a game, but a great half, that still has me jonesin' for Part 2.

Grand Theft Auto V

4. Grand Theft Auto V

Patiently waited for the PS4 version. Glad I did. Probably the best looking game of 2014.

Far Cry 4

5. Far Cry 4

Great online co-op bumped this one further up my list than I expected.

South Park: The Stick of Truth

6. South Park: The Stick of Truth

I've only watched a couple of episodes of South Park in my entire life, still enjoyed this game tremendously for its humor and its RPG mechanics.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

7. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Repetitive? Yes. Fun? Yes. Gorgeous? Yes. Pumped for Phantom Pain? YES!

inFamous: Second Son

8. inFamous: Second Son

Shallow game, but a nice showpiece for the PS4, with no glaring flaws in the way it handles and plays.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War

9. Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Great art style and a touching/gritty story. Indie to a fault.

Transistor

10. Transistor

Not quite the house of fire that Bastion was for me (and a storyline that's a little too obtuse for its own good), but it has a superb art design and KILLER soundtrack.
