Pure arcade structure & clean ass racing. Love that low poly shit. Captures a surprising amount of the appeal of the F1 Game, but abstracted a ton & cuts out everything that isn't the racing.
Doing the same lap over & over is very meditative. Slightly prettier than 2018 & with a slightly more involved campaign. Plus I actually know all the drivers in this one, so I get the weird sense of familiarity that I guess all sports Fans do when they play 2K or whatever.
STAR WARS METALLICA
Fast & flippy. Wild in VR. Weapon stuff kinda detracts from it, tho
embraces the chill repetition of art of rally without the sheer terror. interesting how it presents the history of rally (with the brand names filed off); I don't have a ton of attachment to the sport but I like what it does for the presentation.
DiRT Rally is a very chill game that makes me feel like I'm dying while I'm playing it and makes me want to puke immediately after i stop.
PSP-ass half way between low-poly A E S T H E T I C PS1 graphics & shitty grey-brown 'realistic' ps3 graphics are a drag, but everything else about the presentation is great (music, UI, the radio (?) guy who yells every time I hit the NOS). Still a track focused racer, but the handling is so silly. Never stop drifting.

Arcade/sim sweet spot, 100 million hours of gameplay, lotsa fun ass car variety. Hot Wheels thing + generally more open roads makes it better than 4
