GOaTY 2020

by wacky_delly

I don't think I played 10 games that were released this year. So here are the best of what I could remember.

Hades

1. Hades

Hades is really fucking good y'all. I'm kinda over rogue-lites. Mostly because in all of them, there's a wall you eventually hit. Difficulty ramps up, or the currency requirements get too high, or both and I hit a wall of skill and fall off (runonsentence). Hades isn't immune to that, but I didn't feel the mechanics closing in on me like I usually do. Add the way that it tells it's story, and the story it has and you hit that perfect storm.

Cyberpunk 2077

2. Cyberpunk 2077

I personally didn't have the problems that others did. I played on PC though. Which is clearly the superior platform. It isn't the second coming of games that it got hyped to be, but that's ok. Technical problems aside, it's an incredible world with an interesting story. It isn't everything for everyone like the Witcher 3 might be, but it doesn't need to be.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Part of the reason this is here is because it could have gone so wrong.
