A year with a huge number of game releases that I didn’t care about but at the same time a few game releases that I did care about. Not a disappointing year for games with some really good releases but here’s hoping that next year provides more variety and excitement.

Six days’ worth of game time and still playing every week. A game that is designed in an almost malicious way to force you to keep playing and grinding. But somehow I continue playing aware of the repetitive design. Maybe it’s the fantastic gameplay that keeps it fun or the unique nature of having an FPS with MMO mechanics. I don’t quite know why but I still play and enjoy destiny and will continue through any expansions they will release.
Almost perfect in its design any problems I had with Dark Souls have been addressed. Either by design or in me being prepared. I stumbled around blindly in the previous game and had a hard time but I released the one true way of playing the game and the tactics needed to win with ease and so I conquered dark Souls 2 with little resistance. An amazing fantasy world with fun improved gameplay. Dark souls 2 deserves to be the top game on this list but Destiny cheated its way on top.
A lot of people compare the game to batman Arkham but I think they are wrong. I find this game to be more like assassin creed and they have improved upon the formula. The game lacks challenge like dark souls or unique encounters like destiny but it is fun. Taking control of an orc army and exploring murder is fun and that’s all the game needs to be. The interesting if not slightly shallow nemesis system adds to the chaotic fun.
Titanfall lacks in many ways; Lacking in content, maps, weapons, classes and missing a campaign. But it makes it on the list as a fun multiplayer shooter. In a world of call of duty clones and unoriginal battlefield games, Titanfall tries to be different and mostly successes. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare’s tried to adopt some of the mechanics from Titanfall but its multiplayer pales in comparison, a shallow attempt to change a game that has been stale for a long time. Titanfall works because it’s built to be different and so it feels different.
Far Cry 3 was a great game and Far Cry 4 is also a great game.
I would have to write an entire report to explain why Valiant Hearst is such a great game I cannot do it justice with a few paragraphs. So I shall not even try.
Like Shadow of Mordor; Watchdogs is very similar to Assassin’s Creed. Luckily for both of these games I love assassin’s creed. Watchdogs does a great job of being an assassin’s creed in a modern setting. It’s fun to shoot, drive, stealth and hack. The story lacks originality, it’s a basic revenge story but luckily for this game I like tales of revenge.
Somehow South Park as a TV show gets better and better and this game is the perfect companion to the show. An incredibly funny story but lacking in gameplay. It’s a basic turn based RPG but luckily for it there aren’t too many of those these days.
A re-mastering of Halo 2 which is one of my favourite games should end up higher on this list but unfortunately the game has been suffering technical problems that shock me and make me wonder why the game would even be released. Needing more work it’s hard for me to get too upset since they have done such an amazing job re-mastering Halo 2 and getting three other halo games on the same disc makes it an amazing re-mastered collection it’s a shame about the lack of quality control.
