Sure it's a little late at this point. Technically we're in 2019, but that won't stop this from happening.
I managed to pick up a Switch, and make my way through a backlog of great 2017 titles, so there's not a whole ton of 2018 stuff that I played. No God of War, no RDR2, and I just haven't had the time to put into Hitman 2, or Ni No Kuni 2.

More EDF. More schlocky, B-movie Sci-fi action. Very much my jam. Some of the most fun you can have with couch co-op.
This was an incredible surprise. It's All You Need Is Kill (or whatever the Tom Cruise/Emily Blunt film was that was based on that wonderful book), with mechs and turn-based strategy.
More couch co-op. Between this and EDF, my girlfriend and I have put in so much game time this year.
#MySpiderMan A giant dork that can't help but be sarcastic, sardonic, and jovial because if it isn't, he'd be trembling. This is one of my favourite portrayals of Spider-Man in media, let alone games.
Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said more eloquently by someone else. But come on, finally we got a Dragon Ball fighting game that bridges the gap between DB/DBZ fans, and fighting fans with a legitimately fantastic entry into the fighting pantheon.
Sure some of the stories aren't as good as the others, but the art is absolutely beautiful, and you essentially get 8 smaller RPGs all rolled into one.
By far the best 2017 game of 2018.
Dragon Quest has always been a staple for me, and this is no different. It's not the greatest. It won't bust down the barriers of JRPGs if you already don't care for them.
Came out on PC this year. More Kazu, More Satenbori, more Yakuza. Yes please.
