I harbor no expectation that anyone but myself will ever give this a read. That said, I enjoy the thought exercise of putting together my own top ten list every year.
Woof. I know I missed the big single player experiences this year, like God of War and Red Dead Redemption II, but I can't help but feel like this year was pretty lean in terms of content that speaks to my current tastes. That said, perhaps the malaise is more due to how spectacular last year's release roster was in comparison.

The new season added many improvements and some of the characters I've most desired to see added to the game. More likely than not that this game will remain on my top ten 'til the day they SFVI is released, or the support dries up.
Specifically the Forsaken expansion

War of the Chosen expansion. I know it didn't come out this year, but I do not care. Save for Destiny 2: Forsaken, no game monopolized my time like XCom 2. This is particularly impressive –given how disappointed I was with the original.
Next Generation expansion. It's no better or worse than the original, but I love it all the same
