Games I liked but not enough to make it/didn't play enough: Her Story, Grow Home, Dying Light.
Pile of shame: MGS V, Undertale, Cradle, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Cities: Skyline, Axiom Verge, Rebel Galaxy and many more.
Hearthstone: 2015 was the year that I (finally?) got somewhat into Hearthstone. I still play it off and on. Great game that didn't come out in 2015!

No other game even came close for me this year. The world and the writing in this game is top notch. The cutscenes are amazingly well-done and I really enjoy the characters. There are some problems with pacing and the combat, but these are not enough to stop it from being one of the best games I have ever played. I loved Witcher & Witcher 2 but this game is an even bigger leap than between those games. And the graphics! I have to stop and stare at times because it is so beautiful. Play this game.
Most beautiful game of the year. Great tight controls. But the best part are the mechanics that feel really new and refreshing to me. Every time I got a new ability I was blown away by how inventive and fun they were to use. Every time the world changed and looked completely different.
This game definitely contained the most "what the fuck?" moments this year. The story is the best story this year, the few characters you meet really stand out. The monster design is creepy and great, the environments beautiful but equally creepy too. This game had some of my favorite scenes this year (descending the depths), (walking around on the beautiful ocean floor), etc. It speaks volume that even though I'm easily scared by horror games I still wanted to push forward to see the world they built.
Easily the most fun I had this year. Addictive. Best soundtrack of the year (I listen to it outside of the game all the time). Incredible support with great new weapons, modes and maps.
If I felt that SOMA had the best story this year, then Life is Strange is a close second.
