Amazing year

The first DQ game I actually spent a good amount of time with. I did borrow DQVIII from my friend when it was still fresh, but got tired pretty fast. It happened again with this game, but I returned to it after a couple of months and finally realized it's charm. It really feels like a big adventure when you weren't actually sure where to go and how to use all the key items. I'm really eager to play DQIX. The Amazon delivery should be here within a couple of days!
Brilliant sequel to a brilliant game, but it's pretty much the same as AC2. If that's what you expect, you'll love this game. The lengthy single player campaign has some great moments, but the plot is a lot thinner than in AC2. Loving the multiplayer, btw!
After 939 deaths I finally beat the game. A brilliant game with great level design and music, but the platforming felt very slippery at times.
While it offers a breath of fresh air, Stacking keeps it's main mechanic simple. I liked the game and the fact that there were several ways to solve the puzzles.
The marketing led me to think this game would be a very lackluster single player experience. Was I surprised when I was thrown into a world inhabited by so many stories of tragic fates. While I missed the interaction between the main character and his party, the rich world of Dragon Quest IX makes up for it.
An unique concept and excellent characters made this my favorite game I've played this year so far. While it does have some slight inconsistencies, it's definitely one of the top jrpgs on DS.
A short but sweet game. Never had a chance to play this when it came out as... for me it never did as I'm European. The story is pretty laughable, but I still liked it and the battle and crafting systems. I see myself checking out the EX game (New Game plus) some time.
I needed something to play while waiting for Portal 2 to release so I grabbed the God of War HD collection from PSN. I had never played the GoW games and I was always under the impression that they're just ridiculous and unfun. The first game was a good game, but hasn't certainly aged all that well and GoW2, which I've already started playing while writing this, seems to have addressed many of the issues that are present in the game. The Greek mythology is well implemented, too bad there aren't any subtitles as the sound quality of the voices sound a bit muddy at times.
Perhaps my most anticipated title of the year, Portal 2 gave me everything I had hoped for. Although the game doesn't have as much emphasis on the puzzles as the first game, the dialog driven story is fun and captivating. For someone who has played through the original Portal multiple times the game felt very easy, but I think Valve has delivered the funniest game I've ever played and that's saying a lot. I hope this isn't the last time we enter the Aperture Science Enrichment Center.
Got this as a part of the Welcome Back package and finished it twice. Good game, but the city environment was pretty uninspired and the sharpshooting enemies from two blocks away were annoying. The powers were cool, though.
