Best of 2015

Life has changed. In 2014, I was able to complete 25 games. 29 the year before that. Before this year, I never understood how people could make GotY lists with games that weren't released in that year. How lame, I thought. Now I'm sitting here at the end of 2015 and I haven't finished a single game that actually released in 2015. Again, life has changed for me. It's ok though. I've found a new passion in my life, and while I wish I had more times to play games, they'll just have to take a back seat for now.

I did play some games this year though, I actually completed four of them (all at the beginning of 2015). So, without prolonging this any further, here is my very meager GoTY list...which will look substantially different from my previous years.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

1. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

1 of the 4 games I actually completed this year. I have completed it before, but it's been years. I've actually been very "scared" to replay it, but that's only because I love it so much. It's unequivocally one of my favorite games of all time. Luckily, with the help of the HD collection, the game still holds up very well. In fact, I'd say it's just as good today as it was when it was released a decade ago. This is Kojima's masterpiece.

Rare Replay

2. Rare Replay

What a cool package, and at a great price too. I didn't get to play too much of it, but I did get in some Jetpac and the 2007 update. I also enjoyed watching the videos that came with the collection about the making of some of the games.

NBA 2K16

3. NBA 2K16

This is a great version of virtual basketball.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

4. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I have only played the Prologue, but I will play (and finish) this game in 2016.

Volgarr the Viking

5. Volgarr the Viking

This game is cool. It plays very well and it's extremely addictive.
