I knew nothing about the original Nier (or Drakengard) and had zero interest in this game. After everyone started talking about how great it was, I realized it was developed by Platinum and decided to give it a shot.
I didn't care for the original Destiny until The Taken King expansion was released a year later. By then, it felt like a complete game that I could continuously jump into with a group of friends. Destiny 2 feels like a complete package right out the gate, but without the excessive grind. I was able to see and do mostly everything without having to sacrifice so much time, as is common in these types of games.
I thought this was going to be a bigger dumpster fire than Resident Evil 6, but it wasn't. Instead, it brought me back to the good old days of survival horror, and created an atmosphere I haven't felt in a Resident Evil game since I played the original on PS1 way back in the 90s.
