My Top 10 Games of this Generation

It's been a good (and long) one. Now that the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U are upon us I figured now would be a good time to enumerate my favourite games of the 360, PS3 and Wii era.

Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Super Mario Galaxy

1. Super Mario Galaxy

Pure Magic.

Mass Effect 2

2. Mass Effect 2

The defining series of the generation in my opinion and Mass Effect 2 was the best of the trilogy.

BioShock

3. BioShock

Probably the most influential game of the generation (well, that and CoD Modern Warfare I guess). Still unparalleled in its atmosphere and world design.

Portal

4. Portal

A masterpiece. Just like the sequel. Oh Valve, why don't you make games anymore? And no, Dota 2 doesn't count.

Dark Souls

5. Dark Souls

Never has a game killed me so many times and made me love it for it. Bound to go down as one of the all time greats.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Marrying Bethesda's most refined gameplay systems yet to a world so beautiful and inviting you couldn't help but wander off and explore. Incredible.

Left 4 Dead

7. Left 4 Dead

Best co-op action ever. Until the second one came out.

Halo: Reach

8. Halo: Reach

Bungie's best game yet. Touching story, awesome combat and no Flood.

Castle Crashers

9. Castle Crashers

Too much fun.

Red Dead Redemption

10. Red Dead Redemption

Free from the urban crime trappings Rockstar set about making their best open world game yet. Loved this game. Best ending of the generation, too, I reckon.
