Another good year for gaming, with lauded high points like Obra Dinn having to wait until 2019 for me. Roll on the new year!

What a game. The most AAA game ever, with impeccable, incredible art and music, yet somehow at the heart of it a poignant, heartful story of a father and son, and with incredible combat mechanics to boot.
Calling it "the best Dark Souls game since Dark Souls" would be doing it a disservice, so I'll just say:"One of the best games ever, full stop".

Beating a Nergigante with a group of friends by the skin of your teeth with nothing but your wits and a Charge Blade is a true gaming high.
After Towerfall I found myself wishing Matt Thorson and friends would make a single-player platformer with immaculate level designs. Wishes do come true!

Never has a game Ubi'd as hard as AC Odyssey Ubi'd, with so much stuff to do. And as the best hero since Ezio, Kassanra made it all so damned fun.
