Super Mario Bros.

1. Super Mario Bros.

This may not be the best game on the list, but it is still easily my favorite. I spent hours playing this game growing up, and until I got a Playstation it was one of the biggest ways that I spent time with my brother. Not only does playing this game bring back great memories of growing up, memories of when I dug through the basement to find our old NES just so I could play this game, but it is always one that I can go back and play through many times over.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

2. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

This is one of the most controversial games on this list., especially because of high I have put it on my list. There are many reasons why I put it so high. The story grabbed me the first time I played it and got me so entangled in it that I didn't even care that I wasn't playing as snake anymore. The soundtrack for this game especially the opening theme gives me chills whenever I listen it. The boss battles are nothing less than epic, and it is still a game that I can go back to nearly every year. I got it shortly after I got my PS2 and it helped make that console my favorite console ever.

BioShock

3. BioShock

The reason this game is so high up is because of how beautifully the story of the game was told. It also helps that this game has one of the best atmospheres that I have ever seen in a game, which brings out the sense of desolation through the whole game. Add an open world, great graphics, and you have a modern masterpiece. Completed on Xbox 360.

Metal Gear Solid

4. Metal Gear Solid

This game influenced me the most out of all of the games on this list. I saved my money and bought this game when I was eleven a solid three and a half years after it came out, and just a few months before I received a PlayStation 2 for my birthday. Before this game I was playing simple games like Crash Bandicoot, and I would never really finish them. I would still play every day, but I was not a hardcore gamer. That all changed after I started playing this game once I started I did not stop It helped ferment my love for video games, and shaped what I would be for the rest of life.

Grand Theft Auto IV

5. Grand Theft Auto IV

This game receives such a high rating due to my love of this series, and my lust to play a game that is realistic. A lot of people do not like this game due to the fact that all the ridiculous parts of San Andreas were replaced for a more serious tone. The soundtrack is great, the story is epic, and it is one of the most realistic games I have ever played. It has my favorite GTA protagonist, my favorite city layout, no more endless miles of country to drive through, and it managed to keep out ridiculous loading screens in between islands. I love everything about this game, and I can't wait to step into the next world of GTA. Completed on 360.

Super Mario Galaxy

6. Super Mario Galaxy

Metroid Prime

7. Metroid Prime

Super Mario 64

8. Super Mario 64

The Legend of Zelda

9. The Legend of Zelda

Super Metroid

10. Super Metroid
