Released in 2009 in Europe, this is the height of electronic roleplaying games. Plain and simple it is a perfect storm of everything that I love in a good RPG. It also features the best writing I've seen in nearly any game I've ever played. And I've been around for a while.
The enemies are still bullet sponges and there's still too many of them but the total package here is pure bliss from start to finish, much thanks to the audio, visuals, and fun writing.
The combination of Metroid-style exploration and brilliantly simple brawler combat means this is likely best superhero game in history.
Unusually well put together open world game that sidesteps most of the annoyances of that genre. And it has platforming that actually plays well in 3D, a rarity indeed.
