Games Completed in 2018

A list of the games I've completed in 2018 - updating as I go.

Showing 1-5 of 5 items

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

1. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Terror Billy returns to continue the revolt against the Nazi's and Wolfenstein 2 delivers a tense, high paced shooter with a great plot, characters and fluid controls. Overall, I really enjoyed the game but found it a little on the short side with a story that wraps up far quicker then I would have expected. 4/5

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

2. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

I honestly didn't think I prequel to Life is Strange would work, but I've happily eaten my words and got to experience a fantastic piece of story driven gameplay. Chloe is a fantastic main character and it's truely heartbreaking to experience the events that occured and lead up to the cliMAX of the original game. 5/5

3. Assassin's Creed Origins

The year off for the Assassins Creed franchise was just what the series needed in order to work out how to better improve on the once great formula that had since lost alot of its luster. Biyak is a top tier main character for the series and the amount crammed into the open world is admirable. Sure some of it is absolute fluff, but a lot of the side quests and especially the tomb explorations were exciting and interesting. Here's hoping the franchise can carry on an upward trend wherever they decide to go next...and I for one would be very happy if they just dropped the future storyline unless they can somehow make it even slightly interesting which it hasn't been for a long long time. 4/5

Far Cry 5

4. Far Cry 5

I was on the hype train for Far Cry 5, but within the first few minutes there was caused for concern...a silent protagonist? Really? No wonder they were able to offer a custom character as they didn't even need to pay a voice actor beyond a grunt or two. This had a knock on effect of a story that is barely even there. I just didn't feel connected as my mute ran from conflict to conflict only to be kidnapped every few hours to here another character show off the fact THEY had a voice actor. Gameplay wise, Far Cry 5 is fantastic, as an open world it is stunning, but the lack of a story, a lack of character development and that ending leaving a bad taste in my mouth - i'm affraid the game falls short of my expectations. 3/5

God of War

5. God of War

The best game of the year so far. I was hyped for this and I'm glad it came to fruition so well. Everything about this game is top tier, and the progression of not only the story but also the combat system makes you feel like an absolute bad ass when it finally 'clicks'. Here's hoping for DLC or another enty in the series soon, cause Kratos is back! 5/5
