The main reason I would not argue with you is because I have not played this game. I have my doubts about it, but I would not want to hear you rant about it if I refuted your claim. Therefore, I would nod and say "That seems fair."
Mario Galaxy might be better, but I haven't played it, so I went with the best of the Mario games I've played (which is pretty much all of them except Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros.).
The only reason you'd name this instead of Half-Life 2 is because either 1) You have a thing for praising original games or 2) You haven't played HL2.
Again, most people would probably name MGS1 over this, but MGS2 is better. Playing as Solid Snake does nothing for MGS1.
This is my favorite game of this generation but not of all time, so it counts.
This has one of the tightest, most exciting single player campaigns and quite possibly the best multiplayer ever. Sure.
