This is a worthy successor to Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night (the reigning kings of their composite genre). I could count on one hand the number of games I've beaten 4 times. This is one of them.

I completely missed this game until I played the Special Edition on the PC. I'm no adventure game expert (I haven't played Day of the Tentacle or Maniac Mansion for crying out loud!), but I can completely understand why this is so beloved. The puzzles and writing felt surprisingly fresh and inventive.

The single-player and co-op games are essentially 2 games in one. The punishing levels only make the game more satisfying when you finally finish it.

The fact that many people read the word "disappointment" in reviews and consequently skipped playing this game is shameful.
