Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness

Doctor Tycho Erasmus Brahe of Penny Arcade Adventures differs in personality, biography, and name from the original of the comic. In the games, the Brahe clan is infamous for being obsessed with the study and pursuit of the occult, and Tycho exemplifies this. He graduated from New Arcadia’s Old Academy with a Doctorate in Apocalyptics and founded the Startling Developments Detective Agency. He and Johnathan Gabriel, the only other employee of the company, act as paranormal detectives and exterminators. Tycho's love of literature and belief in malevolent forces brought him to write the book "The End is Nigh" and possibly "Okay, This Time the End Seriously is Nigh". Though Tycho is arrogant, he is able to swallow his pride when it impedes his duties to the mortal world. Armed with a Tommy gun or shotgun, his attacks are the strongest of the player's team, but he is the slowest and the most fragile.

Tycho is apparently the last true Brahe. His father was run out of the Old Academy and later committed to the Cloying Odor Sanitarium, the same insane asylum to which Tycho's uncle was committed, where he presumably died. Tycho's mother is also dead, and his brother, Mr. Forthwith, forsook the Brahe name and left home as soon as he was able. Tycho does not appear to harbour any significant enmity toward his brother, but they do not speak to each other. When Mr. And Mrs. Forthwith are travelling the world, which is often, Tycho acts as a friend, associate, and protector of their daughter, Anne-Claire.

    Poker Night at the Inventory

In Poker Night at the Inventory, Tycho squares off against the player and several other well-known video game faces in a lively game of poker. This Tycho's personality is much more like that of the web-comic character; he is patronizing, vulgar, an avid tabletop gamer, and secretly interested in bestiality. In the game, he is voiced for the first time by Andrew Chaikin.
