Trance Vibrator
ACCESSORY
Sega released this force feedback device alongside the PlayStation 2 version of Rez in Japan.

Overview

The Trance Vibrator was included in a "Special Package" version of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's game Rez (Game), released only in Japan (Location) on the PlayStation 2 (Platform). This is a USB-enabled device which pulses in time to the beat of Rez' in-game music, providing a stronger vibration effect than the PS2's DualShock controller is capable of delivering. The original purpose of the device was to enhance the game experience, with users placing the device in a pocket, beneath the feet, or under the buttocks. However, the very nature of the Trance Vibrator, as well as its name, has led many to facetiously consider the device to be a masturbatory aid. The Trance Vibrator comes packaged with a soft, removable and washable sleeve, presumably for hygienic reasons.

Aside from working with Rez, the Trance Vibrator also works with Space Channel 5: Part 2 and Disaster Report (Game) (known as Zettai Zetsumei Toshi in Japan).

Though the Trance Vibrator is not compatible with the Xbox Live Arcade release of Rez, users are able to use up to three extra controllers purely for vibrational purposes.

Trivia

This accessory was named the best video game accessory by [http:/screwattack.com Screwattack.com], purely because it means you can 'Play' Rez with your girlfriend.
