There is an ongoing issue with my computer where I cannot run games in fullscreen, which means I have to launch them in windowed mode.  However, I cannot seem to find how to do this for Shogun 2, or even the earlier Total War games.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really want to play this game.

shogun is steamworks, correct? if you right click on the game title, properties, set launch options, put in -window in that line, I think (if you need to add a resolution just add a space and do this: 
-w 1360 -h 768, with your resolution going there.) hope this helps

I've updated all my drivers several times and nothing seems to ever work.  I have already tried with -window, -windowed, -w, and -sw, though I haven't added a resolution yet.  I'll try that when I get home.

Well, I figured it out.  A settings file is generated at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts\preferences.script.  That has all the settings you need, can change fullscreen to false or mess with graphical stuff outside of the game, whatever.
