Toho was founded in Tokyo in the 1930s originally managing Kabuki theaters before eventually becoming one of the most prominent producers and distributors of movies in Japan, having produced movies directed by Akira Kurosawa and the anime movies of Studio Ghibli (Company). Their most famous output is Godzilla (Franchise) movies, and have produced many dozens of films involving the reptilian kaiju and his fellow monsters. They also help produce video games Godzilla is featured in, as well as other anime licenses they hold the rights to.
