Overview
The Table Game, also known as THE Table Game ~Mahjong, Go, Shogi, Tsume Shogi, Othello, Card, Hanafuda~ and known in Japan as Simple Series for Nintendo Switch Vol. 1: THE Table Game ~Mahjong, Go, Shogi, Tsume Shogi, Othello, Card, Hanafuda~ is a virtual board and card game collection published digitally by D3 Publisher for the Nintendo Switch on February 17, 2022.
Part of The Table Game series (itself part of the Simple series of budget games), The Table Game features 10 board and card games, including an officially licensed adaptation of the board game Othello. It is the first game in the series to be released outside of Japan.
It also received a premium Japanese release, which was also released in retail format, as Simple Series for Nintendo Switch Vol. 1: THE Table Game Deluxe Pack ~Mahjong, Go, Shogi, Tsume Shogi, Othello, Card, Hanafuda, Shisen Mahjong Solitaire~, including three additional titles (variants of mahjong, hanafuda, and mahjong solitaire). Two additional board games, chess and backgammon, were released on October 2022 for all versions.
The Deluxe Pack version was later released in North America for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on January 26, 2023, followed by a worldwide release for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on May 24, 2023. It was released under the name THE Table Game Deluxe Pack -Mahjong, Go, Shogi, Tsume Shogi, Othello, Card, Hanafuda, Shisen Mahjong Solitaire, Chess, Backgammon-, with the Japanese PS5/PS4 version released under the name Simple Series G4U Vol. 2: THE Table Game Deluxe Pack ~Mahjong, Go, Shogi, Tsume Shogi, Othello, Card, Hanafuda, Shisen Mahjong Solitaire, Chess, Backgammon~.
