Overview
The Shadow is a tie-in game based on the 1994 Universal Pictures movie of the same name which in turn is based on the pulp fiction hero created by Walter Gibson in 1931. The Shadow is a redeemed holy warrior that fights evil wherever it arises with his keenly trained psychic abilities. These abilities allow him to confuse the weak-willed and create illusions, including making himself invisible leaving behind only his shadow. The game is a standard brawler that loosely follows the events of the movie, though the game does have a regenerating power bar that allows the Shadow to briefly rush and turn invisible.
There is some confusion as to whether or not The Shadow was ever released. Despite being fully completed, its US release was canceled after the movie bombed at the box office. Some sources (such as GameFAQs) suggest a limited European run still occurred however.
