A 2D racing and mecha combat game based on the Combat Mecha Xabungle anime series.

A very late era PlayStation release in 2002, The Racing Action: Sentou Mecha Xabungle is the final entry in D3 Publisher's Simple Characters 2000 series of budget priced games based on licensed properties. It features a single race time trial mode in addition to a grand prix where the player goes through a series of races on the game's eight courses. Prior to a race, the player selects one of several mecha with differing weapon loadouts and stats, the number of available mecha increasing as races are won in the main grand prix mode. Each event takes place in a 2D setting with the contestants running from left to right until they reach a point where they must turn around and then complete the race back at the original starting point. Weapons and melee attacks can be used to slow down the other competitors along the way.
