The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes
GAME » on March 17, 1995
Side-scrolling Spider-Man game only released in Japan for the Super Famicom. Loosely based on a 1993 Marvel Comics storyline called "The Lethal Foes of Spider-Man."

Overview

The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes is a side-scrolling brawler for the Super Famicom featuring the Marvel (Franchise) character Spider-Man. Spider-Man takes on many of his famous and less famous foes in a series of boss fights, including Green Goblin, Doc Octopus, Venom, Carnage and Mysterio. Fellow heroes Human Torch (Character) (of the Fantastic Four (Franchise)), Iron Fist (Character) and Speedball also make appearances. The option mode is in English, which is unusual for a Japanese Super Famicom exclusive. The rest of the text is in Japanese except for the saying,"He is... Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." While the game was never officially localized into English, a fan translation exists.

Gameplay

The controls for web-swinging are on the two collar buttons of the controller, unlike other Spider-Man SNES games. Players can swing right or left depending on the trigger held. Spider-Man relies on his fists and a flying kick for combat, and can also fire his web-slinger at enemies. He'll automatically cling to walls in order to get around.

Music

The music is the sound track from the hit T.V. show Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
