Tatsuo Shinada
A disgraced baseball player now working as an adult magazine writer. He is one of the five playable protagonists in Yakuza 5.

Overview
15 years after having been banned from baseball, Shinada has made a living out of writing for an adult magazine in the Nagoya region of Kineicho. The job is low-pay and he's up to his neck in debt to several people, including the local loan shark, Koichi Takasugi. Despite his circumstances Shinada is a very optimistic guy, putting a lot of faith and trust in those people he considers friends. He also has a tendency to goof off, shown in conversations with his loan shark or when he is mocking Kurosawa using Baba's camera. Shinada has immense respect for baseball, and refuses to use a bat in combat out of respect for the sport, with the belief that they should be used for the sport rather than violence.
