Buildings that have fallen in to a state of disrepair.
A narrow street with walls on both sides.
The setting of Alan Wake. A quaint little town situated in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
A solid small house built of wood.
Castle Brennenburg is the setting for the game Amnesia the Dark Descent. It's a shadowy and horrifying environment where Daniel must brave the darkness to remember his past.
A dark opening in a solid mass, like rock.
A common place in Survival Horror video games. Burial grounds for the deceased. Or zombies.
A large densely wooded area.
Settlements completely devoid of people. Or so it seems...
Haunted houses are ominous places full of dread. If you dare enter, anything from flying books to hordes of zombies await you.
A hospital is a place to seek help in a medical emergency. It is also used for treating minor illnesses that aren't necessary an emergency. Some games take place in a hospital, whilst others use them as a part of the environment.
Where evil is created, or at least where scientific experiments are conducted. Test tubes filled with pretty liquids are almost a must.
The setting of the first and several subsequent Resident Evil games is utterly overrun by zombies created by the Umbrella Corporation's runaway T-virus.
Silent Hill is the fog-covered supernatural town that is the setting for many games in the series of the same name.
This is the mansion in which the original Resident Evil takes place. The mansion was commissioned by Ozwell E. Spencer and created by architect George Trevor. The mansion is actually a cover for a secret lab underneath it. It is destroyed by Albert Wesker.
