Young played for Birmingham Young University, there he played for a total of 3 seasons and had a total of 7,733 yards and 56 passing touchdowns.
NFL
Steve started his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he only played 19 games with the team. Young signed with the San Francisco 49ers a few years later and was
Joe Montana's backup.
Young finally got the chance to start in 1991 when Montana suffered a injury. His Superbowl win came in the 1994 season, this included big moves by the team with pickups of Deion Sanders. The season concluded with a win over the San Diego Charger in Superbowl XXIX (29) 49-26, Young was named the game's MVP. Steve Young will be most remembered as a mobile quarterback able to escape from the pass rush. He is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
