When holding a Smash Ball, the possessor unleashes its true powers; as it gives the character the ability use a Final Smash. The Final Smash is released by pressing the Special Move Button on the different controllers. The Player must be very careful to not push any directions at the same time they push the special button or else they may end up doing their Side special move or their Up special move etc. Players holding the item are not invincible as a certain amount of damage will make them drop it. The Smash Ball appears randomly on the screen and moves on its own making it difficult to break it, if it stays too much time on the screen it disappears. Also they are affected by characters items; if a player throws an item, hits the ball and breaks it, gains its control.
