The SIE London Studio was Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe's largest internal developer, most famous for its work on SingStar, EyeToy, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation Home.

Overview

London Studio was formed in 2002 when Sony merged SCEE Studio Camden (Company) and SCEE Studio Soho (Company). Their main focus at the time was the SingStar (Franchise) franchise of karaoke games, but also took the lead on games for the EyeToy (Franchise), PlayStation 2's camera accessory, near the end of the console's lifespan. During the PlayStation 3 (Platform) era, London Studio continued to develop SingStar games including various spin-offs as well as games for PlayStation Eye (Object) such as Wonderbook: Book of Spells and EyePet (Franchise). The studio's experience with camera-based games led them to developing PlayStation VR (Accessory) games for PlayStation 4 (Platform) including PlayStation VR Worlds (Game) and Blood andamp;amp;amp; Truth. In October 2022, PlayStation announced that the London Studio was developing a live service game set in a fantastical version of modern-day London (Location). No details were ever given aside from one piece of concept art. In May 2024, Sony closed London Studio as part of company-wide layoffs that saw 900 (8%) of jobs eliminated.
