Very amused by Abby roleplaying as a reporter and trying to get nice pictures of everything.

@bowlingdonuts: I absolutely agree. The jump scares start almost immediately with zero buildup and the whole game is just terrible AI chases in an overplayed insane asylum setting. It's a bad game filled with more cliches than you can shake a stick and and the only reason anyone gives a shit is because it was better-looking than any other horror game when it came out.

I'm really enjoying the series, but each video is long enough that I'm increasingly bummed we won't get full playthroughs.

There has to be a game that acknowledges the stupidity of voluntarily walking into a horrifying situation like this?

It's obviously common to all horror media but it's soooooo dumb. Find a better way to get your protagonist into horror land! This is why I appreciate FEAR a bit more, your protagonist rolls in loaded to rumble with all the backup in the world only to realize stuff's actually even more bad than anyone knew.

The dude is a reporter. He wants the hot scoops.

Poor abby, you could tell she was hesitant to go in at first. I was the same way when I first played this! Nothing but bad things on that building.

I think Vinny made all the same jokes he made in the quick look of this when this game came out. Or maybe they were the same jokes Patrick made. Or maybe it was a UPF? Either way, there is already a full playthrough of Outlast on the site from when Patrick was doing Spookin with Scoops (seriously, just go to the Outlast wiki page, and click the videos tab to find it- it's great). I guess it was just Patrick, but he (or someone) definitely made the "this is just commentary on TV these days..." joke in some video on this site.

Anywho, thanks Abby for braving games that clearly scare you way easier than maybe sometimes they should. You seem surprisingly easy to scare, but yet you're still playing scary games. You're a champ, and these videos are very funny.

Abby roleplaying as a reporter trying to get B-roll really reminded me of that guy who does Let's Plays on youtube whilst roleplaying as the character he's playing.

Can't remember his name now but I remember liking how much effort he put into his videos.

This was a funny one.

Why does this guy think that you of all people are the one to follow him and then decide to treat you like all the other patients? Why not keep a close eye on you and get rid of all that pesky videofootage and files? I start to think that this guy is not very good at being a psycho.

Also is it me or are there like +- 10 horrorgames you can play for a feature like this? When this feature started i assumed Amnesia & Outlast were definitly going to be played. Slenderman, Alien and Soma are the 3 remaining games that i can see appearing, but Alien has quite the run up to becoming scary i heard so maybe that's not a great one to do. It's kinda sad that Amnesia the Dark Descent is still seen as one of the top horror games out there when it's nearly 7 years old.

Outlast 1 ... really spiraled out of control in the last like 6 hours ...

I don't mean to be too facetious but the whole game is only about 6 hours long. Took me about 5.

I think you misunderstood my wording - I meant 6 hours in-game. As in, all the experiments were happening for months, and then everything happened to break down and go crazy something like 3-6 hours before your journalist character guy reaches the asylum at the start of the game. I thought it was kind of neat that in Whistleblower you actually get to see things under control for the first little bit and then shit hits the fan and goes bad.

Outlast 2 doesn't seem to have any breaking point that recently happened. Instead, everyone has just been brainwashed to be crazy for months and months, and inexplicably the state never realizes that some rural township went Resident Evil 4 crazy.

@bisonhero: Ahhh, I see. That actually makes me excited to play that Whistleblower DLC. I've heard it's some of the best part of Outlast, actually.

Love this feature. My only complaint would be it felt like a lot of time was spent reading the notes, which seem superfluous unless it's a full play through.

Kinda weird they went with a game that was already fully covered on Giant Bomb. I wonder if they forgot about that @vinny?

I guess the same can be said about PT. Maybe not that many good horror games out there.

That whole bit at 46 minutes in was hilarious.

"You're good, you're good, you're goo-nope you're not good, not good! Run! Run!!"

Vinny and Abby are far braver than I for doing this. I just can't do horror games. I can barely watch other people play them.

As a full playthrough? Layers of Fear got a quicklook...

I hated Outlast, but it's because I hate horror games that don't let you actually fight monsters properly. I hate running away from monsters/enemies, it's a lot more scary but it's also more frustrating as combat feels like a more comfortable option.

Alien Isolation is a must in this series. Probably the hardest/most frustrating game I've ever played.

Just watched the vid. Great to see Abby ran past the exit at least TWICE. It's right in front of you!

Abby got further than I did on first go. I kept dying to the basement guy, and got fed up with the controls / general feeling that I'm too slow and the monster is too agile or smart.

You should REALLY put the name of the game being played in the video title and the description. It would make it much easier to find in a search or in a list, especially for something posted publicly to YouTube.

Abby makes it harder on herself by using the night vision too much, so she never knows if she's hidden in darkness or not.
