Why is EVERYTHING like that now? That level of low respect for the user, with the associated lack of usable information to troubleshoot a crash its low traveler, and general vapid smarminess annoys me to no end. Its like computer interfacing is regressing to the 80s and the intellect of the whole thing is regressing to childlike levels.

I only use a DS4 with my Switch, thanks to an 8bitdo dongle (the brick looking one). Can't use my Joycons at all, between drifting and Bluetooth dropouts, my Switch is close to unplayable. Its actually pretty infuriating.

As I understood it growing up, it was tradition to put coins into the batter of a Christmas cake. The unsanitary nature of putting money into food didn't strike me until I was older.

I'm not sure, but they may just want you buy new switch because old one had some security problems. I think they patched out it in a newer models, but the early ones were very easy to hack and you couldn't fix it, because it was a hardware problem.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Online is totally a video game! I went to a Unified Minds pre-release tournament this past weekend. Unfortunately I didn't get a Giant Bomb card, did get a Cherish Ball card though, that's nice.

And while working in a restaurant in Canada a toad in the hole was always 2 large sausages inside a crispy pastry bowl with beef gravy.

If you're going to use a Neti-pot or some sort of sinus rinse thing, also make sure that everything is clean, clean, clean - unless you want the sinus infection from hell.

@kwad_rat: Uhh, hackable doesn't mean "oh man, hackers gonna break into my switch". Hackable means, "hey, I can install custom firmware and play pirated games and not funnel money into a terrible company like Nintendo". Definitely only an issue for Nintendo. With the way Nintendo conducts business, I'm all for people pirating their games. Their business model is gross.

Yes, I meant that it's easy to pirate on an old Switch. That's why I think that they are definitely wan't you to buy a new one and they don't care much for an old model. I should be more precise.

I like hearing about the Bombcrews' wives and girlfriends and children, mostly, so it always sounds weird when Ben says, "my partner," and "they did such and such," when everyone else seems much more personal. Could just be a Millenial thing, too, I guess.

@blisf: I know right, GB as a whole lost a lot of my respect when they decided to just barely mention TB's passing. Like I didn't expect any of them to cry, but the whole business just hammered home how uncomfortable You Tube and Twitch make them, and how they really don't take them seriously. Weird because it hasn't been that long since GB was a scrappy upstart :(

There's an elephant in the room with that topic. I think the crew felt it hard to address his passing without getting into that stuff and their feelings, so they chose to not cover it at all which I think is the right choice.

The shows never pretend to be all the news that is fit to print (or read aloud). So, yeah, it can be frustrating when they are out of touch especially when it comes to celebrating some game personalities over others. I think Etika not being covered by Beastcast was of note. The dude had a massive following, was trending on Twitter for weeks (before/after his passing), and now you see his logo all over Twitter profiles in memory. He also meant a great deal to POC in the Nintendo community and YouTube/Twitch community, as he was one of the bigger and more positive voices.

It's easy to be glib and say this highlights how white and out of touch the Beastcast is and that kind of is the truth of why they didn't cover it, but it is what it is. I much rather the site be honest to what they can talk to and react with real interest and emotion then become some boring newsfeed. That all said, in these slow news months I sure do miss the old days of Jeff reading off ds eShop releases.
