    Overview

Shogun Warriors (known in Japan as Fujiyama Buster) is a 2D fighting game developed by Kaneko (in conjunction with Atop) and released by Kaneko for arcades in April 1992.

Similar to other 2D fighting games at the time (namely Street Fighter II), Shogun Warriors is the first fighting game to use archetypes and figures from Japanese folklore, as most fighters are named solely on their profession or non-human creature type.

The game later received a sequel, titled Blood Warrior, that eschews the hand-drawn sprites for digitized actors (similar to the Mortal Kombat series).

    Characters

The game includes eight playable fighters and four unplayable boss characters.
