This hasn't quite settled in yet. Drew, I will miss your presence on the site. It's been beyond awesome having you around for the past - what, 8, 9 years?! I can't even process that. You're as much a part of what made this website special as anything else. Thanks for the laughs, the memories, and for standing up for LEGO Island. Thanks for everything, and good luck on your next adventure!

I'm from outside of the US and can confirm this. One of the major newspapers from my country (Portugal) posted an article about the gif on their website and facebook page.

Because I am portuguese as well, I have to ask, qual foi o jornal?

So, in your opinion, do you think there would be a difference between an NES-style game made for current consoles, and a game made for the NES that you would consider relevant?

Multiple people can play on a single screen with a controller, Joy-Cons or an individual Joy-Con.

Here's the thing, though. I went and played on the Switch at one of those preview events, and found the console is just too small for local, same-screen multiplayer without having people squinting their eyes all the time. I believe the small screen size might substantially cripple the multiplayer potential of this console.

In the scenario that you suggest, while some games from the Jackbox Part Pack would be fun on the go with the Switch, most of the flagship games might really only work if *everyone* playing would have to have their own Switch, which is a highly unlikely event (I guess it would be fine if you had one Switch for every two people). The point of Jackbox to begin with is that anyone can play if you just whip out a phone or laptop or tablet or whatever.

I might be wrong. Maybe these games will go over just fine. But this was the impression I was left with. Focusing on a six-inch screen at a distance is generally not the most pleasant way to do multiplayer...

I wonder what the Rap Man is up to these days... What with the hunk scene not being what it used to be.

In all seriousness, I really like that you wrote the message in Croatian. It's sweet, and I think she might think so as well! But maybe the message is too strong for an early stage? It might pan out - I don't think any of us in this forum are positioned to speculate safely on that! So why not go for a safer option and just write "let's go for coffee again?" or something like that in Croatian. That way it's just a joke but it still carries the nice gesture.

I'll just stress that it doesn't have to be about growing anything in your body... any sort of continuous challenge that stretches throughout the semester would do. I just can't think of anything, but I feel like there should be something there. Or maybe this is a complete dead end, and we'll stick with the sponsoring idea.

@dudeglove: What attitude? I was just being silly. Seems like I'm not the one overthinking! And, like another user pointed out, I wasn't talking about sexism either - that word isn't even in there! A bunch of people seem to have taken it from that angle (the internet needs to chill!). We really just want to come up with something where everyone can participate.

Anyway, I like your ideas. Something along the lines of the jellybeans one might be particularly workable.

@brendan: With us being small campus, having a sudden surge of students and faculty donning beards, and then having that dumb thing culminate with a big event at the end of a semester, is likely to attract a lot of attention to the fundraiser. If you have a better idea, please shoot!

I don't really think the issue is "this is sexist and bad," right? More like "only ~50% of people can participate so what's a fun way to involve the other ~50%".

Exactly, thank you!

So we're having have a beard-growing contest to raise funds for charity at my university. Any participants will agree to grow a beard the best and longest they can, to be judged at the end of the semester.

The issue: This is pretty exclusionary. [EDIT: As in a lot of people can't participate. This is not about sexism or offending anyone etc!] As most of you know, only men can grow beards. We'd like to come up with an activity that involves the whole campus, not just half.

Which brings me here. Does anyone have any ideas for a challenge that would be equivalent, or at least go smoothly in tandem, with the beard-growing challenge, that could also include women and/or people who can't grow beards?

So far, the only idea I have is that women could sponsor men, i.e. any woman can name a man to be a participant in the challenge, and he would be participating in her name.

@casepb: are you serious? Please please please remember that this is not only here to replace the Wii U, it's here to replace the 3DS. I think a lot of people are just completely ignoring this fact.

I believe Nintendo is supporting 3DS development for at least 2 more years. I wouldn't be so sure about that statement.
