I felt all conferences were solid and had a handful I am now legitimately looking forward to (Battlefront, Dragon Ball, Spiderman), even if I remain uninterested (as a customer, at least) in much of what was showcased - but Nintendo had me on edge the whole time. That was a great, insane stream!
They were all perfectly acceptable. Nobody "wins" these things.
That's why I didn't put the word "win" in there! I think it's only natural to have a favorite showcase. None of the streams did much for me except for a game or to, but Nintendo's had me on edge almost the entire time!
Also just realized I forgot to put EA up in there. :/
I like the aesthetic idea, but it doesn't seem particularly well executed.
I think it's been a while since we've seen a game like this - small maps, health-pack and ammo pick ups, map-awareness based like you pointed out - but I also wonder if I hopped into Steam how long it would take me to find a bunch of clones with more interesting gameplay ideas/overall execution.
I have negative interest in the movie, but it is nevertheless likely that, at some point in time I will impulsively give in to my urge to see more of Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman.
How do they do that!? Is some poor person watching all these videos for pull quotes?
What do you mean poor person? Getting paid to watch QLs? Sign me up.
Also this is weird because of how casual QLs are, but I don't think it's inappropriate. If the objective is to gather opinions pre-release, then, yeah, that's one way do it.
