@straightgrizzly: Leader pays an up front cost though. Sure he's getting a good cut, but his margins aren't as good as they appear.

@littlewask: You should probably say what system you're playing on.

Bombaderios,

Today I will be purchasing my first house. The house is wired with built in speakers. Does anyone have a recommendation for a multi-zone receiver? I have an Xbox One and I am assuming I should plug the hdmi directly into the tv to prevent further input lag and use a digital optical cable for sound. Thoughts?

Also, I need to purchase a modem and was looking at some of the modem / router combinations, as I want to upgrade my router as well. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good gaming wireless router? I currently have a Netgear N600. I'd like to upgrade and set up some access points. I'm confused how the cable company's speed (50 mbps) correlates with a router's capacity. Why should I care that a router can do 750 mbps, is there any cable out there that comes close to that speed?

Thanks for all the help Bombers!

Google Fiber is available in seven cities at 1gbps with expansion plans in the future. Apparently AT&T has started to match them in those limited areas as well. Maybe you're lucky enough to live in one of those cities.

I looked through everything in the store and not a single thing caught my eye. I'd like to see more than 6 franchises from 4 developers there. There is so much potential for cool stuff in there but it's a pretty sparse store for now.

I just don't get all the flack for the game. As in, I thought it was a enjoyable first attempt. However can someone explain to me how The Order is any different than the first Uncharted? Overly high production values, going for a cinematic story experience, no other modes to speak off other than the single player, main campaign isn't really that long. It's a cover shooter and the cover mechanics work/feel fine but they don't redefine the generation. It has stealth sequences and some melee stuff as well as some fixed/forced weapon stuff.

This is what we call a ludocentric critique. It focuses entirely on the ludology. It ignores all the other factors. It's like saying Halo and Duke Nuk'em are the same because you're running around in a first person perspective shooting alien creatures. It's like saying Mario and Sonic are the same because they are both games where you run from left to right jumping over enemies and collecting gold tokens.

Is the story any good? Is the dialogue any good? Are the characters interesting? Is it paced well? That's the difference between Uncharted and The Order. That's the kind of questions you ignore when you break games down to "you take cover and shoot guns and do some platforming and QTEs occasionally".

To anyone who has played them, are headsets required? I bought it to play online with one of my buddies who has since lost his ps4 and the last time I had the headset on with random people it was just racism non-stop.

I just played one where two people are supposed to snipe two targets simultaneously. It doesn't need to be exact, but it sure is easier when you are aiming at different targets. Other than that haven't had much issue through the first two heists.

@getz: I just started two days ago. I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it considering I quit FFV after 4 or 5 hours.

So far this year I have played:

  • Resident Evil 4 (2005)
  • Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (2004)
  • Wolfenstein 3D (1993) [It was playable in a Polygon article. How could I not?]
  • FFVI (1994)

So yeah, I play older games all the time. I have my PS2 hooked up at my parents, but it's to a TV from the 80s where you have to turn a knob to turn it on/adjust the volume. I played through Vice City on it last year and it looked like ass. If it weren't for that I'd have started up FFXII again because I've been thinking about it a lot recently.

I think you're greatly overvaluing the value of an ad click. The market value of an ad click is way less than say, the market value of 10000 page (ad) views, which is a million times less valuable than the market value of a preroll ad on videos. I've seen reports saying that banner ads receive 9 legitimate clicks per 100000 views. If the same IP is always clicking the same ad they are gonna be able to strip that junk data out easily.

As an aside, I have never had an ad on Giant Bomb autoplay audio (using Chrome, Windows 8, Canada). Sometimes if I have a couple tabs open there will be enough resources hogged that my fan is a jet engine and I need to close those tabs.

This might just get me to play some GTA Online again. Does anyone know if there are any level requirements? I believe I was level 39 when I stopped playing, which is undoubtedly way lower than the majority of players.

Seems the lowest level heist is a simple 2 person job that unlocks at level 12.

My PS3 didn't auto update the game this morning so now I got to wait a bunch. Seems like only a 1.3GB download on PS3.
