This is just a wishlist of mine. Notably, everything in the top 5 on here I find likely appearances. All of the rest are just pipe dreams, but even then, they;re still not an impossibility. You're free to comment on this list... But please, let's not argue arguments that have been done to death already. *cough*RIDLEY and PALUTENA*cough*
Let's get on to the list.

Chrom would be an amazing character. I realize people are sick of sword-users, but Chrom has something going for him. In Awakening, a new mechanic was introduced in the Pair Up system. Chrom could Pair Up with several characters, including Sumia, Sully, Maribelle, Olivia, the Avatar, his daughter, and other male characters: (Frederick, Vaike, Gaius.) Chrom could bring a LOT to Super Smasb Bros. 4.
She's a shoe in. She's had a very likely leak appear, and while some people are already of the opinion that she's deconfirmed, purely because of some differences in models, I don't see why not. Palutena could bring a lot to Smash 4: She's been fought in Kid Icarus, yet has a lot of potential for a unique moveset. I would love to see her.
There is a lot of potential for Pac-Man, because, you know, the S Flag appears here. From the looks of it, it appears to be an assist trophy for Namco characters. (Look up GameXplain: They'll Xplain everything.) I personally don't see why there would be an assist trophy specifically for Namco characters, and yet no Namco characters. Plus, who doesn't want to see a battle between 4 giants: Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man?
Ah, Takamaru. Sure, he's a sword user. Sure, he's only appeared in one game. But he's a SAMURAI. Samurai didn't just use swords, and it just so happens Takamaru in his original game had quite a few weapons. If they just choose to make him use other items besides Swords, just like Link, he could be a refreshingly unique character.
Oh, Anna. This is purely a far-fetched desire of mine. Look, Fire Emblem has pretty consistently gotten characters that only appear in one game, and then disappear. Meanwhile, Anna has appeared in every Fire Emblem game besides Gaiden, gains renewed importance in Awakening (Where she appears as a series of Nurse Joy-esque full-time merchants, and part-time goddesses,) and while more minor than the main characters of the game, is surely a much-beloved character that could easily seize a spot in Smash. Not only that, but Awakening is the most best-selling game in years, which means that she could easily be the third spot. She's also wielded swords, staves, and lances, so it's not like she'd be a pure sword user. Plus, she could have some really interesting money-based attacks.
Porky Minch. Otherwise known as Pokey Minch. Is that face not one of despair? Is that laugh not pitiable? Is that past not tragic? Is that character not an asshole? Plus, he's appeared in two games, both of which have characters representing them. Lucas seems likely to be axed, but Porky might as well replace him.
